The Regional Authority FrankfurtRheinMain is the operator and publisher of the Welcome Portal. As a public corporation, we have been directing and coordinating regional development since 1975. Our work is based on the law passed by the Hessian state parliament regarding the Metropolitan Region FrankfurtRheinMain, which came into force on April 1, 2011.
The Regional Authority FrankfurtRheinMain aims at the strengthening the FrankfurtRheinMain region, and works on make it ready for the future by participating in the competition for bright minds, green ideas, investments and jobs. This includes countering the effects of demographic change. The competition for qualified professionals among the German regions, Europe and the world is rapidly intensifying. Many companies are increasingly looking beyond the German labour market for skilled workers.
Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) are the job engine of our region. They maintain the highest employment growth and are particularly affected by the shortage of skilled workers. In contrast to large companies, SMEs often lack the resources for recruiting employees. To support its SMEs, the Regional Authority FrankfurtRhineMain has set itself the goal of supporting qualified professionals from abroad in relocating to the region by making available useful information for them on the Welcome Portal. Furthermore, qualified professionals may ask for personal advice at our FrankfurtRheinMain International Office, which is located at the Regional Authority FrankfurtRheinMain and is working in close cooperation with our strongest partner in this task, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Frankfurt am Main.
However, we are not responsible for the recruitment or the placement of skilled professionals, but we provide SMEs with information on the legal framework for employing international qualified professionals and assist them for a successful and well-managed integration at the working place.
All this information and relevant contacts are available here on our website. Should you have further questions, please contact our team at the FrankfurtRheinMain International Office.
