FrankfurtRheinMain (FRM) is an excellent environment for start-ups to flourish. Not long ago, Frankfurt am Main was ranked among the 50 best global start-up ecosystems. Entrepreneurs in Frankfurt am Main have access to a wide range of funding and consultation services.
If you have any questions or need advice, contact your regional business development office (Wirtschaftsförderung). It is your central point of contact for all concerns relating to your start-up.
The Chambers Commerce and Industry (IHK) can also help you with questions about self-employment and start-ups. Click here to find your regional IHK.
Every city and district in FRM has at least one advice and coaching centre for entrepreneurs; some offer individual consultations. Hessen Trade&Invest offers an overview of technology and start-up centres in Hessen.
Advice on public funding opportunities is also available from Förderberatung Hessen [Hessen funding advisory service].
FRM has many buildings in which entrepreneurs can rent cheap office space. They are a place for encounters and exchanges with other start-up founders and frequently organise coaching sessions. There are also plenty of co-working spaces.
More and more founders’ networks are emerging, both in the big cities and beyond. These include: established business clubs, new business networks for young entrepreneurs, many business communities that are linked to a specific world region , founders’ networks that have their own event formats (e.g. networking walks during the lunch break), founders from specific industries (e.g. graphic design) and many more.
The start-up centres at the universities are aimed at students and graduates.
A remarkable number of entrepreneurs have a history of migration. They bring excellent intercultural skills to the table, and their start-up projects often benefit from their “un-German” approach.
Make your dreams come true: become your own boss. Start your own business in FRM.
