Start-ups

FrankfurtRheinMain (FRM) offers the best conditions for start-ups. Recently Frankfurt am Main was ranked among the top 30 global start-up locations and it has a wide range of funding and consultation services accordingly.

Support for Entrepreneurs

A very good point of contact is always the Economic Development Office, Wirtschaftsförderung, in your town or district. They will be able to help by answering your questions or putting you onto the right contact.

The Chambers of Commerce (IHK) can also help answer your questions about self-employment and start-ups. Click here to find your local IHK.

Every town and district in FRM has at least one, and often several centres, offering advice and coaching for entrepreneurs and start-ups. Some even offer personal consultations. Hessen Trade & Invest offers a central point of contact for entrepreneurs.

Advice on public funding is also available from the Funding Advisory Service Hessen, Förderberatung Hessen.

FRM has many buildings in which entrepreneurs can rent office space at a reasonable price, and where you can exchange experiences with other entrepreneurs and attend coaching sessions. In addition, there are also plenty of co-working spaces which you can use.

More and more entrepreneurial networks are emerging, also outside the big cities. These include established business clubs, new business networks for young entrepreneurs, many business communities that are linked to a specific global region, entrepreneurial networks that have their own format (e.g. networking walks during the lunch break), entrepreneurs from specific industries (e.g. graphic design) and many more.

Start-up centres at the universities are aimed specifically at students and graduates.

Good Prospects for International Entrepreneurs

A remarkable number of entrepreneurs are migrants. They possess excellent intercultural skills, and not being “typically German” is often their key to success.

Become your own boss and make your dream come true! Start your own business in FRM.
