Dual Study Programmes

Are you still wondering whether it is better to study or start working straight away? Is a degree course not practical enough for you and vocational training does not have enough theory? In the FrankfurtRheinMain (FRM) region you can do a dual study programme. As well as gaining indepth knowledge at a university or vocational school, you also learn about the practical side of the job.

The dual training programme is a combination of theory and practice that is unique in the world. The dual study programme is similar in the respect that you do not just spend time in lectures, but also practise what you have learnt in a company. In this way you have access to the world of work along with a first-hand insight. In FRM there are many companies who are on the lookout for motivated students taking dual study programmes.

Admission Requirements

In order to enrol in a dual study programme, you need a Hochschulzugangsberechtigung, a university entrance qualification. You spend part of the time at your university and the rest of the time in a company, where you learn the practical aspects of your vocational training.

Qualifications

With a dual study programme you receive two qualifications at once: a vocational qualification and a Bachelor’s degree. In some cases, people who already have a Bachelor’s degree can complete their Master’s degree as part of a dual study programme. More information can be found on the Duales Studium in Hessen website.
