New Old Town in Frankfurt am Main

Do you already know Frankfurt's new Old Town (Altstadt) between Dom and Römer? Since the end of September 2018, the rebuilt Old Town has been officially opened with 35 beautiful houses, 15 of which have been reconstructed true to the original. Old squares and townhouses with small shops and restaurants were reconstructed on historical ground plans. Each house belongs to a different historical period and architectural style. During the reconstruction of the old town, the typical red Main sandstone of the region was used and original parts from the former Old town were installed. The successful mixture of old and new, of past and present, makes up the charm of the new Old town.

The best way to get to know the Old town is to take a official sightseeing tour. During the one and a half hour tour you will learn about the old and new history of the Old town and its reconstruction. The tours are offered in German and English. Groups can also book a guide for an individual tour in other languages. All dates and information on the sightseeing tours can be found on the Frankfurt Tourism Website.

We wish you a great time in the new Old Town of Frankfurt.
