The Frankfurt Christmas Market (26 November to 22 December) is one of the largest Christmas markets in FrankfurtRheinMain with almost three million visitors a year. The market starts at Paulskirche church and continues over Römerberg hill to Mainkai (Main river bank). You can find various Advent concerts on the Römerberg and the famous 30 meter high Frankfurt Christmas tree on the town hall square.
The Wiesbaden Christmas Market (27 November to 23 December) is located between the Schlossplatz, the Rathaus and the Stadtschloss as well as around the Marktkirche. There you will find the famous shooting star market with over 130 stands for everything around Christmas.
This year's Darmstadt Christmas Market (26 November to 23 December) has the slogan "Christmas in Darmstadt connects friends from all over the world". On the Luisenplatz you will find stands from the twinned towns of Switzerland, Hungary, France, Ukraine, Poland and Latvia.
The traditional Christmas market in Fulda (23 November to 23 December) transforms Borgiasplatz and Jesuitenplatz into a medieval Christmas village. In the heart of the Christmas market stands a pyramid over 18 meters high with life-size Nutcrackers.
The Schlossweihnacht in Erbach in the Odenwald are as magical as the Odenwald itself. It takes place only on the advent weekends from 30.11 to 23.12.2018. You will find the idyllic Christmas market with around 60 exhibitors at the Residenzschloss, the town hall and the town church. The Christmas tree on the market square is one of the largest in Germany!
The highlight of the Christmas Market in Michelstadt (30 November to 23 December) are the life-size wooden figures, which are spread all over the market in the Old Town and serve as guideposts to the Christmas Market around the historic half-timbered town hall.
A main attraction of the traditional Christmas market in Giessen (30 November to 23 December) is the ice rink on the church square. With over 500 m² of ice surface, visitors can enjoy the Christmas atmosphere while skating on ice. Also this year, city tours are offered during the Christmas market season, where you can explore the historic Giessen.
