German for professional purposes

Speaking and understanding German will boost your chances of finding a good job and being successfull at work. Everyday language is different from business language. In FrankfurtRheinMain (FRM), there are special job-specific language training programmes.

For internal communication within a company, to understand or give instructions and to write business emails and letters you often need specific words and phrases that you might not use during your daily life. It is even more difficult to differentiate such words and phrases in a foreign language. At a Business German course, you will learn job-specific vocabulary for your own professional environment.

Vocational language training programmes have been sponsored by the government since 2016. You must meet the following requirements to qualify:

  • You are looking for a job or traineeship, or are in the process of having your professional qualification or education degrees recognised.
  • Your German level of proficiency is: B1, B2 or C1.

Do you already have a job but some difficulties in your day-to-day work still occur due to inadequate German skills? Than you can also take a Business German course. However, in this case either you or your employer must pay the half of the costs.

Interested? Than contact your local Employment Agency (Agentur für Arbeit) and get information about Business German courses. For more information, please check the official website of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).

One key provider of Business German courses in FRM is the Internationaler Bund Bildungszentrum Frankfurt.
